Sex & the Single Woman: All Wrapped Up in Love
A few months ago I mentioned that I am going to be a bridesmaid in the upcoming wedding of a close friend of mine. With the big day less than six weeks away, this past weekend she was thrown a shower.
This was the first shower I’ve been to in a long time. Like, a really long time. I can’t remember the last shower I attended, suffice it to say that I couldn’t understand why a group of grown women were “Oooh”-ing and “Ahhhh”-ing over potholders. Now, that I’m a little older, I get it.
Anyway, being in the presence of a bride-to-be (and her ecstatic family and friends) really got me thinking. I can’t imagine being married or even engaged at this stage of my life, yet it is absolutely the perfect place for her to be.
I’m looking forward to the years ahead. I have friends, roommates, cousins and a sister who will all meet (or have already met) the perfect guy, and I cannot wait to celebrate that with them. As a single girl, I know weddings can be a little rough, but it’s hard not to be happy when the people you care so much wound up so lucky.
