Sex & the Single Woman: Different Strokes for Different Folks
One thing about watching my friends date that has always amazed me is how some of them have a knack for finding the perfect guy, every time. Well, not every time. But they always seem to float from one relationship to another, confident that they will end up with just the right guy.
In contrast, some of my other friends date around every type of guy, wanting anything but commitment. Their lives are a flurry of dates, hilarious stories, and the adventure that comes with resisting settling down.
I love looking at the different ways in which people date. When I was younger, I assumed everyone woman went out with a guy on Saturday night, and eventually they would go steady, get married, have kids. How wrong my 12-year-old self was!
I have no idea about my own dating style. I’m somewhere in the middle — interested in multiple guys at the same time before finally settling with one for awhile. I am antsy and slightly phobic of commitment, however, so it’s always interesting for me to see how these things play out.
I also find that as I get older, the way in which I date evolves. Interesting. I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
