cheatingboyfriendrevengeYears ago, I was home from college and met a guy named Judd (not his real name) at a club. We hit it off and started what I thought would be a summer fling. But when it was time for me to go back to school, he told me he wanted to keep our relationship going. I was 2,000 miles away.

He called almost every day. We talked for hours at a time. He sent me flowers and told me he loved me. I booked his plane ticket to come see me for Thanksgiving. He broke his leg and couldn’t come. Still called me every day. Cried on the phone to me because he couldn’t visit. He told me he’d be at the airport when I came home for Christmas. I was so excited to see him…but only my family showed to pick me up.

No one answered at his apartment. No sign of him at all. After a few days, I called his parents, who were first appalled, then apologetic.

“You were the one we thought would change him,” they later wrote me in a letter, complete with a check repaying me the money I had spent on his Thanksgiving plane ticket. “Judd is a pathological liar.”
