Sex & the Single Woman: Paying Dues

Yesterday I mentioned that I am currently having problems figuring things out with a guy I dated. All of this has led me to wonder why it is that we let our exes emotionally abuse us.

A break up means that things are over. You’re separated. You go your separate ways. So why is it that some of us still hang on to the last shred of humanity left in the relationship?

I think some great friendships have formed from break ups. It makes sense, because there was definitely an element of chemistry between the two people. Ultimately it comes down to a choice: is the friendship worth the toll on the emotions?
