Sex & the Single Woman: Shoulda Coulda Woulda
Confession: Much as I love the fellas, I really don’t mind being single. Obviously.
But when my grandmother died a week ago today, I reflected that I really wish I had gotten married and had kids before she passed. Not because she disapproved of me doing my own thing, but because she loved weddings and baby showers. She ate them up. I don’t think she’s ever turned down an invitation to one, even if it was out of town.
And I know that one day when I do get married (maybe), I’ll miss her presence, because I know she would have had an awesome time. And when I have kids (maybe), I’ll wish that they had had the chance to meet her.
Ah, regrets…

I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother. One of the things that makes me most anxious about getting married (if that happens) is the worry that my grandparents won’t be able to meet my husband or see me walk down the aisle.
i’m in the same boat as i have older parents and lost my only sibling several years back…. pressure is now on me. it’s my needs vs their wants. sorry about your grandmother.
