Sex & the Single Woman: The Mix Tape

Bleak springtime rain has partnered with my dating life and as a result my latest iTunes queue is filled with angsty music. I periodically get into phases where no matter how optimistic I feel, all I want to listen to are mopey songs. Even though I hope I will be out of this funk in the next week or so, here is what is currently on my iTunes:

“Skinny Love” by Bon Iver

“Tiny Vessels” by Death Cab for Cutie

“Blood Bank” by Bon Iver

“Rain” by Breaking Benjamin

“Good Arms vs. Bad Arms” by Frightened Rabbits

“Winter Winds” by Mumford & Sons

“Can You Tell” by Ra Ra Riot

“This Is My City” by Timothy Victor

“Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise” by The Avett Brothers

Hopefully there isn’t a great need for angsty playlists among other women out there, but it never hurts to have one on tap. The good news is that I know eventually–and I feel like sometime soon–there will be a need for a seriously amped up mix.
