When I went forward with the "pre-emptive strike" it turned out badly because it was hurtful for my roommate and didn't make me feel like I was treating either guy respectfully. My roommate and I moved past that incident and eventually into our own apartments and now things are AMAZING. I hope you guys can work something out if you really want to be with him :) Good luck!
