Sex & the Single Woman: Tough Love Gets a Little Easier
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was going to be following season two of Vh1’s “Tough Love.” The show follows a group of women as they work through their relationship problems with the help of matchmaker Steve Ward.
In a recent episode, the women were asked, when it comes to men, what are their deal breakers? Be it children or religion, each woman had a different opinion. The women were challenged to confront the men they had just met, getting the answer to the question that potenially seals the deal.
The thing that struck me the most was echoed by the women themselves, “It is way too soon.” Ward protested that if the men give the wrong answers, then the women are saving themselves time. This left me wondering, how soon is too soon to be throwing down the big questions? Do we scare men off by wanting to save ourselves time? Is it really wasting time to wait a few dates before easing into these topics?
