Target Practice: Two New Discount Designer Collections to Watch For
On last Monday’s Single Minded Women program on Blog Talk Radio, we talked a bit about how retailers are coping with the economic downturn, and how money-strapped women can still find affordable fashions that are as chic as anything you’ll find hanging off a clothing rack at Nordstrom. I’m happy to announce that savvy shoppers can look forward to two hot new designer collections available at…where else…Target!
First up is Thakoon, the Vogue-adored, Michelle Obama-worn line known for explosive prints and vibrant colors. Thakoon for Target will hit stores on Christmas, and the good folks at Nylon have a sneak peek at designer Thakoon Panichgul’s exuberant collection, all priced between $20-$70. Florals and stripes never looked so good.
But it doesn’t stop there. This week The Wall Street Journal announced that designer Alexander McQueen will collaborate on a cheap-chic line for Target, set to hit stores in March. The buzz is that the Target collection will be inspired by singer Liela Moss of British band The Duke Spirit. PS. To learn more about Liela’s style, check out my interview with her for Refinery 29.
In the meantime, we at Single Minded Women have plenty of tips to help you stay chic in this economic downturn. This month’s feature – 10 Coats to Help You Beat the Chill in Style – includes several winter coats under $200.
