Top 10 Single Minded Women of 2010: #7 UCONN Women’s Basketball Team

With less than 26 hours left to 2010 the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team experienced something they hardly ever knew:
A defeat.
After 90 consecutive wins, and more than 32 months of non-stop winning the UCONN women’s basketball team lost a game to the women of Stanford University.
None of us reading this today may ever again see in our lifetimes a similar feat. The facts and figures behind the longest winning streak of any NCAA basketball team, men or women, collected a book’s worth of staggering statistics.
Here’s just one: during their 90-game win streak, these remarkable women trailed for a combined total of less than 134 minutes – that’s an average of about 90 seconds per game.
