5 Ways to Flirt on Valentine’s Day

By Julie Spira

flirt on valentine's dayIf you’re unattached, there’s no need to fret this Valentine’s Day. It’s time to ramp up your flirting techniques and enjoy Valentine’s Week.

Regardless of your relationship status, celebrate romance in your life with these tips.

Step 1: Wear Red. Red is the color of love and passion. Take the time to go shopping in your own closet and dust off that red dress that hasn’t been worn in a year. Find your matching red pumps and walk with confidence and charm. You’ll be surprised at how quickly heads will start turning.

Step 2: Accept all Invitations. Check your Facebook invitations and visit local websites for singles events in your area. There are plenty of Valentine’s mixers all week long. RSVP to as many as you can. This is the time where singles need to unite. You might make a new friend, a business contact, or even find a date by Valentine’s.

Step 3: Nibble on Chocolate. Chocolate is an aphrodisiac and are filled with antioxidants. The stores are filled with candy hearts and kisses. Buy some chocolate for yourself and keep some candy kisses in your purse. When you’re out flirting, hand the cute guy a chocolate kiss. He’ll get the message and hopefully will take the cue.

Step 4: Schedule Girls Night Out. This year’s Valentine’s chick flick is “Just Go With It,” starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.” The film opens on Friday, February 11th. Grab your single girlfriends, see the movie, and afterwards indulge in some cocktails and flirt with the cute guys for some after-theatre fun.

Step 5: Capture the Moment. Bring your digital camera or iPhone with you to create a digital memory book. While you’re shooting away at the fun events you’re attending, zone in on the cute guy who’s captured your eye. Ask him, “Mind if I take a photo?” Chances are he’ll be flattered. Then of course, you’ll need to get his information to email a copy in real time. Who knows where the conversation will lead.

Being single on Valentine’s Day is a lot better than being in an unhappy relationship filled with disappointment on February 14th. You are free to flirt guilt-free with whoever you meet and can expand your social network.

So if that cute guy asks you to be his Valentine, go ahead and say yes.
