SMW Road Show: Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day

By Josie Brown

pic1“Every woman has her day” is the slogan for this bon mot of a movie, starring the incomparable Frances McDormand and Hollywood’s new golden (strawberry blonde?) girl, Amy Adams.

When a out-of-work governess wheedles her way into a job as personal assistant to an American stage actress who juggles her boyfriends for a shot at the film career, is it any wonder that madcap mayhem ensues?

Filmed in London’s Ealing Studios, you’ll note that some scenes take place at the Theatre Royal, the Drury Lane, Covent Garden, Westminster, and Whitehall Court.
