SATC2 Moral of the Story: Dress Your Best!
By Catherine Cassidy
Like every other red blooded female, I adore Sex and the City for all that it is – the friendships, the relationships, the city, the glamour, the fashion. And that it’s all completely relatable. Working moms, perfectionist women, aging women, aging relationships … we’ve all got at least one if not all of the same issues going on in our own lives.
What stood out to me with this movie was not only how I could totally relate (aside from the all expenses paid trip to Abu Dabu), but how they DRESSED for every occasion. Of course, there is some movie magic and we were expecting killer wardrobes, but there was no off-fashion-duty time and that’s the lesson for the day.
In the series and in the first movie, we saw the girls in moments when they weren’t completely dolled up. We saw them in their PJ’s and workout clothes. We saw them in more casual ensembles. Not in SATC2.
We saw them all dolled up to have drinks together in the comfort of their own hotel suite, perfectionist Charlotte adorable in a dress to enjoy a magazine on her ‘mommy-off-duty’ day and Carrie glammed out for an evening of takeout and TV. The takeaway: Always dress your best.
Why not try for a little bit more than your yoga pants and tank when you’re lounging around on a Saturday? Don’t you think you’ll feel a little bit better if you took a few minutes to pull together a comfortable, yet chic, outfit? I think so!
(Hint: This is where jersey dresses and jeans with lycra come into play!)

I agree with this issue on being dressed up/ dolled up for almost every occasion, however being born and raised in the city of New York its more of a six sense (something you must do). Hey it’s better than running around without any clothing.
For most of my young girls life, i was on the soft ball team and i have played other sports. Being a town boy and also an young girl i had many outfits. i had to dress proper for school, i had to wear my jersies for sports, sweat outfits for gym, dress for parties or church, jeans and shirts for hanging out with friends and when i gotten older for highschool we would have dress for succes days which all students had to wear slacks, button down shirts, or a complete dress suit.
In the city i was always on the go and i was trained to dress for everything in life.
Now that i live in PA everything is different and no one judges you based on what you wear. so have fun and dress for the rainny wheather you might be having.
